What men are saying about this hat: "My hat is perfection--beautiful, warm, and full of care"...New York
"Very nice item, very warm" Quebec, Canada
"...nice hat. The wool allows my head to breathe so it is warm without sweating. It gets softer the more I wear it". Pocono Mountains
If you need a traditional hat that you can wear no matter what the weather throws at you, this hand knit hat made with 100% wool will fit the bill. Hand knit in the traditional watch cap style, these hats have been the classic style for men for good reason, they keep your head warm!
100% wool hand knit hats are difficult to find. I now carry this traditional hand knit hat in several colors, just choose the one that you like best. The brim of the hat is long so you can pull it down as far on your neck as you need.
Great for men who:
love to ski
love to hunt
are in the military
Wool is Multi-Climatic - it reacts to changes in the body and adjusts to outer climates (acrylic just makes you sweat!). So, wool provides the perfect fiber for outdoor wear no matter the weather or circumstance.
Wool's unique properties; including providing great insulation even when damp, have made it a material of choice for outdoor clothing. Wool has been used, especially by men, for many years. Early explorers used layers of wool clothing to protect them under arduous conditions during their journeys.
***This hat will be knit up when you order. Knitting this hat will take me about 1 week. During that time your hat will be hand knit, washed, dried, and carefully packaged.
**Take care: When it is time, you will want to hand wash this. It really is simple. I usually wash our wool items in the (clean) bathroom sink with cool water and a squirt of shampoo or SOAK if I have it. I squeeze the soapy water through the hat, rinse the hat well, roll in a towel and place it over the heater register to dry. Definitely NOT Martha Stewart, but you weren't interested in doing it her way anyway! :-D You will find your hat will get softer with every wash.
If you've read all this and still can't make up your mind, read this article on the Guide for Men's Winter Headwear. This hat style is the first one he reviews. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2013/01/22/men-winter-hat-guide/
Nothing is more comforting or appreciated than a personally handmade hat, pair of hand knit mittens or fingerless gloves. They are always so warm, comfortable and made with care. Try a hat or a pair of mittens for yourself or as a gift & I'm sure you will be back! I use high quality yarn from small farms whenever I can.
